Your rights
What are children’s rights?
Children’s rights are human rights that apply for persons up to 18 years old. They are specialized and emphasized because this period is very important in a life cycle of one person. Being denied some of this rights can have negative effect on the rest of the future life of that person.
Child is a person up to 18 years old.
The state has to ensure safe and respectful life for children. This is also applied for adults who have to have in mind children rights and their protection. Children do not have sufficient knowledge to protect themselves. They need to help each other to protect their rights, but above all adults should help them protect their rights.
Almost all states in the world have agreed to protect and ensure equal rights for children. Those rights are written in the Convention on Children Rights.
All children have to have equal rights
All the children, no matter where they live, who they parents are and what they do, what language they speak, what religion they practice, boy or a girl, with or without disability, poor or rich- should have equal rights.
Not a single child should be treated unequal for any reason. All adults should do the best they can for children. When adults make decisions, they should always thing about how will these decisions affect their children.
Your family has responsibility to help you learn your rights and ways to consume and protect them.
