Online forums
Online Forums are websites or parts of bigger websites where people who share common interest can express their opinions, comments, ask and answer questions.
Use a nickname
When you visit chat rooms and forums, ALWAYS use nickname instead of your real name. Nickname can be an interesting way to hide your real identity, but NEVER introduce yourself using somebody else’s identity. Some people who use chat rooms and forums are lying about their identity.
Personal data
When messaging and commenting on forms- never reveal your personal data! That includes your address, name, name of your school and all other similar data. You can mention the city you live in, but all the other data should remain private. If you give away the name of your school, it can be sufficient information for someone to find you. If a stranger asks you to give the name of your school, report it imminently to adult you can trust.
Meeting with strangers
Persons you met online do not have to be who they say they are. It is very easy to lie about your identity online. NEVER ARRANGE MEETINGS WITH PERSONS YOU ONLY MET ONLINE.
If somebody asks you to meet them, report it to your parents or guardians immediately. The only way to meet someone is if you come with your parent, guardian or older person you can trust. If you receive upsetting message, TALK IMMEDIETLY WITH OLDER PERSON YOU CAN TRUST.
