Humanitarian organization International Forum of Solidarity – EMMAUS (IFS-EMMAUS) was established in the beginning of 1999 in Gracanica – Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the aim of providing assistance to vulnerable population groups. With its over 230 employees IFS-EMMAUS operates on the whole BiH territory, providing assistance to trafficked victims, illegal migrants, victims of sexual abuse and other forms of exploitation, children in need of assistance, youth at risk, as well as other vulnerable individuals.

Registered as a local, non-profit organization with field work in the area of the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, IFS-EMMAUS is one of the leading organizations in BiH in the NGO sector and one of the largest NGOs in the region of Southeast Europe. The membership in EMMAUS International provide us to the function and development projects in whole world aimed at helping all vulnerable people.

During the years in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, IFS-EMMAUS implemented a number of projects assisted a thousands persons, including refugees, illegal migrants, victims of trafficking in persons, elderly and disabled, the homeless, people with disabilities , youth, HIV, HIV risk groups and addicts and other vulnerable category. Today, IFS-EMMAUS represents one of the largest self-supporting non-governmental organizations in the country and the region, which implements projects in cooperation with governmental institutions, non-governmental partners, local stakeholders and international donors and organizations. Since October 2008, IFS-EMMAUS is one of few NGOs possessing an ISO standard 9001:2000 Certificate guaranteeing the quality of services provided to vulnerable groups in the IFS-EMMAUS.
